The big picture
What the SAT actually is
The SAT is a digital test you take on a computer, in an app called Bluebook. It's scored from 400 to 1600, and it takes about 2 hours and 14 minutes, plus a break.
It's one piece of a college application, sitting alongside your grades, your activities, and everything else that makes you you. A score is information — not a verdict on you.
